Meet Chane
Hi, I'm Chane, I became a trainer so I could spend all day with dogs. It worked.
Every dog I meet is a little different, and honestly that's the best part. I don't do one-size-fits-all training. We figure out what your dog is trying to tell you, and go from there. Kindly, patiently, and always with a few treats in my pocket.
Whether you've got a bouncy puppy who eats socks, a rescue who's a bit unsure, or a stubborn old chap who thinks he runs the show, we'll get you both on the same page. Just real, everyday tools that actually stick.

Lovely words
From the humans on the other end of the lead.
We couldn't be happier with our experience with Chané. She is incredibly calm, patient, and communicates everything so clearly, making the training easy to understand and apply. We've already seen a massive improvement in our puppy after just two sessions, which has honestly exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable and genuinely cares about helping both you and your puppy succeed, I couldn't recommend Paws at Heart more highly.

FAQ
Good questions.
The stuff people usually want to know before we meet. Something else on your mind? Pop me a WhatsApp, I'll reply myself, promise.
Ask on WhatsApp →Puppy stuff, everyday obedience, sorting out cheeky habits, lead walking and helping you become the calm boss your dog needs. Every plan starts with a R250 hello session so we can meet, chat, and figure out what your dog really needs.
Most owners start seeing lovely little changes within 2 to 4 weeks. The basics (sit, come, calm walks, polite greetings) usually click in about a month. Tricker stuff like reactivity or off-lead reliability can take 2 to 3 months. Dogs, like humans, learn at their own pace.
As soon as 8 weeks old! Honestly, the earlier the better. Those first few months shape the habits you'll live with for years. And puppies at that age are basically little sponges (adorable, chaotic sponges).
A flat collar or harness, a normal lead about 1.2 to 1.8 metres long (please no retractables 🙏), a pouch of yummy treats cut nice and small, your dog's favourite toy, water, and a poop bag or two. Comfy shoes for you. We'll be on our feet.
In and around Pretoria, usually at your home for the early stuff, then out to quiet parks and calmer public spots as your dog gets more confident. We'll sort out the where together based on what we're working on.
Absolutely, those are honestly some of my favourites. Reactive, stubborn, misunderstood… all welcome. We start with a proper hello session so we can suss things out safely and make a plan that works.
Never. It's all kind, clear and built on trust. No shouting, no fear, no gadgets. Your dog listens because they get you, not because they're scared of you.
